Our History

The Stanway Institute provides the institutional administration and oversight of programs and activities that contribute towards forming Christian leaders for mission. This includes:

  • Organizing and leading mission discipleship training trips
  • Hosting an annual Mission Day each fall
  • Helping international students adjust to life in America
  • Maintaining key mission relationships both domestically and internationally

The Stanway Institute for World Mission and Evangelism was founded in 1989 with the purpose of promoting Christian mission at Trinity School for Ministry, in North American Anglicanism, and beyond. The Stanway institute was named after Trinity’s founding Dean and President, the Rt. Rev. Alfred Stanway, who spent many years as a missionary in Tanzania, sometimes planting as many as one new church per week!
